I should have said “Romney’s Lies” in the headline because that’s what he’s telling and they are borderline treasonous. A desperate man in a desperate campaign poses a danger to our country because he is so desperate to become its president?

Does that make any sense to you? 

Gabby Giffords: After being gunned down, she makes a comeback, leading the Pledge of Allegiance. No dry eyes in the house, including mine.

Jennifer Granholm: Rocked the socks off the Dems feet.

John Kerry: Brought the foreign policy truths home. Finally someone brags about bringing Bin Laden to justice, reaffirms that Obama repaired our reputation around the world after the lies of Bush and the neocons.

Jill Biden: Brilliant woman, you should be so lucky Repubs to have her in your camp.

Joe Biden: A sincere man of focused intellectual curiosity and righteous admiration for our military along with sincere love for his family and our country.

President Barack Obama: He continues to get the job done in spite of the Republicans’ vow to oppose his every move. They tried to destroy Clinton and now they accuse Obama of every sin under the sun including not being a citizen (HE IS) when Romney admitted in his acceptance speech that his father, who ran for president, was born in Mexico! Obama sees America succeeding, Romney/Ryan see an America in decline. What would Reagan think?

TUESDAY NIGHT: Michelle Obama stunned at the Democratic Convention. I know I’m gushing and blushing but I don’t care. What a speech! What a First Lady, what an advocate for our military families.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: The big dog, Bill Clinton, wowed and crowed and brought the conventioneers to their feet, hearts thumping. The Congressional Repubs tried to destroy you just like they are trying to destroy President Obama BECAUSE THEY CAN’T WIN ANY OTHER WAY!

Looks like you won, Big Dog, in many more ways than one!

The dark ages are born again in Tampa, Florida at the Republican National Convention.

Here is just one example of the arrogance and vitriol America can expect if Romney/Ryan win, so get used to it:

“We’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers,” Romney pollster Neil Newhouse said at a panel organized by ABC News.

They should have signed on with Maybelline then they could have worn their product placements on their faces - big ruby lips, black manscara, blushed cheeks with pencil thin eyebrows.  

(If I see you boyz hocking Maybelline I’m coming after my royalties!) 

While episodes of hate, most recently expressed by Mr. Cathy, the son of Chick-fil-A’s founder, may seem humorous and benign to some, it is the accumulation of these episodes, almost on a daily basis, that encourage letters like the following to be written by a father to his gay son. Every single time one of these episodes occur and the media grasp onto it, a little bit of me dies. I cannot laugh these episodes off or ignore them. They break my heart is why and I have not yet figured out how to stop my heart from breaking.

“James: This is a difficult but necessary letter to write. I hope your telephone call was not to receive my blessing for the degrading of your lifestyle. I have fond memories of our times together, but that is all in the past. Don’t expect any further conversations With me. No communications at all. I will not come to visit, nor do I want you in my house. You’ve made your choice though Wrong it may be. God did not intend for this unnatural lifestyle. If you choose not to attend my funeral, my friends and family will understand. Have a good birthday and good life. No present exchanges will be accepted. Goodbye, Dad.”

I don’t think most straight folks, even our strongest allies, understand how this constant chirping and chipping away affects us gay folks. I’m not blaming them, I’m simply saying that waking up most days to a new and hateful diatribe by some right wing or so-called Christian representative who gets media coverage crushes a little piece of my heart every time. And I’m in my middle-fifties.

AND I AM FUCKING TIRED OF IT. . .

Here is my response to a newsletter I received today quoting Tony Robbins, Ron Paul and Ben Bernanke: 

DHC:  And let’s never again engage in two wars meant to protect our country without paying for them.  It is called debt and it has nothing to do with regulations or unions or tort reform.  It is simple math - and the time has come to pay that debt. 

NEWSLETTER:  Anthony Robbins, Ron Paul and Ben Bernanke all agree that the national debt crisis could destroy America if something is not done. Unfortunately, our politicians continue to spend us into oblivion as if there will never be any consequences. The policies of big government, big labor and multi-national corporations all share in the fleecing of America. The founders of this nation warned of the consequences. The good news is our nation has been divided before and has recovered. When the federal government gets back to the original intent of the defense of the states and the states care for the people; which will require massive deregulation; tort reform and lowering the hurdles to repatriate trillions of American dollars. The solution is simple. America is an innovator with over 75% of the patents filed worldwide. To get our families working again small business must have access to capital to grow and expand. Small business employs 70% of Americans and is the best tool to fight the war on poverty.
